Timeline of Events: Around 12:30 PM, an unauthorized individual initiated a malicious attack on our Discord server. By 12:40 PM, our vigilant team detected the attempt and immediately sprang into action. By 12:50 PM, we successfully contained the situation, disabling and banning the compromised Rie account and taking measures to eliminate any potential backdoors that the hacker may have created. What Happened: Our Discord server experienced a security breach where an unauthorized individual gained access to server permissions. The hacker maliciously added a bot named Rie, which was used to send a harmful link. Unfortunately, during the breach, the original Rie account was deleted from the server, allowing the hacker to continue their malicious activity for a short period. In response, we took immediate action to remove the compromised Rie account, eliminate any potential backdoors that the hacker may have created, and secure our server. Our Response: To address the situation, both Rie and I worked collaboratively to swiftly disable and ban the compromised Rie account in accordance with Discord’s Terms of Service. Additionally, we have adjusted our announcement procedures moving forward. All official announcements will now be made under Ember’s account to enhance security and prevent similar incidents.
